The University of Tokyo, 'Sustainable Prototyping Laboratory'

In the year 2012, good evaluation in the past years for NPO Green Wave was made and we have been appointed as an observatory organization to closely work with the project, newly created project by Department of Architecture, Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo, ‘sustainable prototyping laboratory’ and Komatsu Seiren Co. Ltd. officially sponsor for the project, well-known fiber maker company both domestic and internationally. This company is very aggressive in the environmental practice.

In this sustainable prototyping laboratory, Professor Kengo Kuma, and Associate Professor Yusuke Obuchi play a key role, and, in the study team the main theme is to study to keep Material, Structure of Building, review the history, consider environment for a future architecture and buildings, Komatsu Seiren Co., Ltd. will support these activities and financially support as a corporate sponsor.

Therefore, and the mutual understanding between Komatsu Seiren Co. Ltd. and NPO Green Wave, we have been requested to go between the project to better understand the progress of project within the Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo and make report to Komatsu Seiren Co. Ltd. as a third party opinion organization with a neutral and fair manner. We assume we can make good report based on the various environmental knowledge that NPO Green Wave have accumulated in the past will surely help in the report both meaningful to Sustainable Prototyping Laboratory and Komatsu Seiren Co. Ltd.

We would like to introduce a part of this project to all of you and will continue to push forward our mission on the environmental conservation activity.
