GOLD GYM’S

We've got a picture from Gold Gyms for the tree we planted. The paulownia tree that we planted at Gold Gym had grown up very large.
It was a small seedling when we planted, but now it is attracting peoples, many people stopped in front of this paulownia tree and now it has become a splendid tree of people who take pictures.
We feel so appreciative for the people of Gold GYM for their support of the tree and assisting the tree's growth. Wishing that same support will continue from now on.

Gold Gym’s

Asami-san of Gold Gyms has reported us that tip portion of Kiri(Paulownia tree) damaged due to the Typhoon hitting East Japan the other day. We paid a visit and found that some of the tip portion of Kiri tree, grown up well have damaged. However, damage itself was nothing so serious and we, with Asami-san prayed that there will be fresh tops from the damaged points in next year. It was apparent the trunk of trees have grown up and wide. On the other hand, Ubamegashi’s growth looked rather slow, however we’ve confirmed that roots of the tree were firm enough. Jinchouge(Daphne odora Daphne) have scattered its typical flavor during Spring season, and during the Autumn, Kinnmokusei(Orange osmanthus)have created its fragrance with every leaves. The place of those plant of trees of Gold Gym’s is where everybody can enjoy the seasonal flavor during year round. See pictures:

Jinchouge was always giving and sweet flower smell in the past years but Kiri tree made finally blossoming this year. It is far to imagine that it grew very tall tree from which we placed very small nursery pod. We are so pleased and feel comfort seeing such growth and we wish to thank Asami-san of Gold Gym’s for the care of plants. We saw lots of new growth of leaves. Also, we found Ubamegashi (Quercus Phillyraeoides) with its strong growth. Large green leaves of Kiri Tree will surely make leafy shade this year. See pictures:

After visiting the Futaba Hoiku-en/Baby home, we are pleased to see that the hand made wood-bench were often used by the children and familiarized for the use. The blossoming of Satsuki(Rhododendron Indicum) are bit late due to the time difference of sunshine compared with other areas. However, we found many flower bud so it will be soon with lot of flowers. On the other hand, the blossoming of Tosamizuki(Corylopsis Spicate) were just over. Instead, there were many fresh leaves and it will be a full of green leaves during the summer season. We may visit to conduct leave pruning after summer. See pictures:

We placed the hand-made round-wood bench during the month of October, we found that prickles from the wood later on. And therefore, we have taken the bark and filed all over the bench. Renewed bench looked so nice and there will be no hurts to anyone. Thanks to Hitoshi-san for his cooperation. See pictures:

Summer has come and hot temperature continued, all trees are needed to have sufficient water spraying. It was a big surprise to look at the growth of Kiri tree. Two years has past but the top of Kiri tree is over the electric cable and yet they are making leafy shade even such high temperature. Most of these leaves will fall down due Kiri tree is deciduous tree. We will see and anticipate that there will be healthy and will be lot of leaves next year. We want to express our thanks to Mr. Asami for taking care of the trees.

トサミズキ

トサミズキ

Satsuki(Rhododendron Indicum)-3 out of 5 were dried up although we have not worried much-see pictures. For our future study of such plantation, we have forwarded the pictures to Tan-san of Minatoya Engei asking for the professional idea why it happened. She informed us it was maybe 1)damage from the pest, 2) lack of water supply. We will try to investigate the soil condition and other elements surrounding the place during the next visit.

Gold Gym's:

Jinchouge(Daphne Odora)-We found 3 healthy blossom buds with strong pink color. They may produce pleasing spring flavor soon.

ジンチョウゲ

ジンチョウゲ

ジンチョウゲ

Ubamegashi(Quercus Phillyraeoides)-They looked rather weak due to the winter temperature compared to summer seasons, however they showed steady grow. The tree is so strong and very hard, it will be a bincho charcoal timber, the growth rate is very slow. We anticipate the fresh tops according to the sunshine of spring seasons.

ウバメガシ

ウバメガシ

Kiri(Paulownia tree)-It is very difficult for this tree to have a growth in other places. Only one here steps agrowth. During the winter seasons, all leaves are falling as if it dried up. But it will be okay because branch keeps greens and they will show fresh tops in spring time.

June 2, 2008

We paid a visit to the places where we planted the trees. With lot of excitement and expectation in mind, wishing for nursery trees strong growth and firmly roots have expanded to the deep underground. It was about 2 months have past since the plantations taken place.

Futaba Hoiku-en/Baby home:

We were glad to see flowers blossoms in each 5 Satsuki(Rhododendron Indicum) trees, and Tosamizuki(Corylopsis Spicate) have drastically grew and with many leaves. However, Kiri(Paulownia) trees were nothing healthy and leaves were falling, we think we have to repeat planting Kiri(Paulownia) trees.

Gold Gym's:

Due to the strong summer sun shine, most leaves of Jinchouge(Daphne Odora) trees were suffered and color of leaves turned to yellow yet basically trees were seemed all okay. We found lot of aphid in the Ubamegashi(Quercus Phillyraeoides) trees at the last time visit, however this time we could not find aphid. To make trees healthy and for the vital effect, we atomized natural wood acid to continue to grow. Kiri(Paulownia) trees looked good condition and with more leaves.
